Competitive Project – Thermal Power Plant

Competitive Project – Thermal Power Plant

This project has been developed in accordance with the terms of reference of the competition and the regulations. The terrain is modeled according to the specifics of the site. The existing group of buildings retains its distinctive features – visible concrete structure, existing graffiti and brickwork. They are united by an intermediate distinctive structure, with a separate structure, where the premises for artists and administration are located. The lobby is connected to all buildings by a glazed corridor, integrating the exterior into the interior. The main entrance is on the northwest side, and on the southeast are the service entrances for staff, artists, charging and more. The entrance area provides access to the lobby, halls and vertical communications, as well as to the café and workplaces. The graffiti inside the building is preserved as part of its identity. A transition from the level of the second floor to the roof of the dug-in building is planned. Most of the existing openings are preserved, which provide natural light, and sun protection elements are provided in case of need to darken the big hall. We used materials which are announcing and accentuate on the identity of the building and the existing surfaces – self – leveling flooring, wood and greenery. In order not to change the park environment, the transport access in the plan is maintained with slight optimization. The site is provided with park space for cars, vehicles and space where the cars can maneuver. Also there are relaxing zone, talking area and amphitheater on the site. The roofs of the buildings are landscaped with purpose to strengthen the connection between the already existing space and the building of the thermal power plant. The new body of the building is in bright color that’s why it can stand out over the hills and a totem arrow is mounted on the existing tower to guide visitors.
